He's almost 8 months old and it was only a few weeks ago that we managed to get him to sleep through the night. And now he is eating like a Trojan and making tentative attempts to pull himself up onto his feet. time to start thinking about re-arranging some furniture! And on that subject, Liz and I have started to decorate his room.

On a personal level, I attended an RYA first Aid course last weekend which now allows me to take a Yachmaster Prep course and do the MOT offshore exam. If things go according to plan then I'll take the opportunity of trying to find a place on this, or next years ARC. Time off from parenting duties that was granted before Max was born.

Max our son was born on the 29th of June 2005 which makes him 4 months and 18 days old.

So things are changing in my life, Liz's life and especially in Max's life. Like all newborns he is a clean slate and most of the experiences he encounters are new to him. Coming into the world, being pressed against his mothers skin, wearing clothes, feeding from a breast. All new to him and as first time parents, new to us as well.

This is my record of learning to live with a small child, the ups and the downs of being a father and a bit about all of our seperate lives. Some of the literary overspill might cover other topics as I am interested not only in child development but also sailing, Informayion Technology, music, amateur radio and politics.

Posts will probably be sporadic as my time is unstructured and without any routine other than helping care of Max. The new home requires a fair amount of attention and finding the 'space' to sit down a write anything other than the briefest of notes is a rare occurance.

Next post - Max's birthday - year 0.
